Driving The NC 500
We drove what is known as the North Coast 500 which is a roughly 500 mile route along the north west Atlantic coast, around the top of Scotland and then down the eastern North Sea side.
We arrived in Glasgow and drove to Loch Lomond, then to Isle of Skye, Gairloch, Achiltibuie, Forss near Thurso, Fearn by Tain and back inland at the end to Pitlochry and finally to Glasgow for the return.
Along the way, we stayed in lovely lodges and small hotels, had excellent food, and saw charming towns and villages. The road at times was challenging, in many places a single track, but the scenery was spectacular; these photos can't begin to capture the beauty.
